Auburn University’s only farmers’ market returns to campus on Thursday, May 23.
The Market at Ag Heritage Park is hosted by the College of Agriculture at Auburn University every Thursday each summer from 3-6 p.m.
The purpose of the market is to connect local farmers, growers and producers to local buyers. The College of Agriculture has steps in place to ensure every vendor is a true farmer or grower from surrounding counties. No produce at the Market at Ag Heritage Park was purchased elsewhere to be resold.
Vendors change weekly based on produce availability, but last year’s vendors included Granite Knoll Farms from Waverly; Well’s Produce from Cottonwood; Macy’s Favorites Dog Treats from Auburn; Paradise Plants from Opelika; Leo’s Produce from Tallasee; Hale Farms from Clanton; Jimmy Dykes “The Corn Man” from Beulah; Longshore Farms goats milk and soaps; Pulliam Farms from Lafayette; AL Hooks Produce from Shorter; Flowers to Bless from Lafayette; Maywick Candles from Valley; Lee County Master Gardeners; and the Cake Lady. In total, nearly 30 different vendors are present through the summer.
Ag Heritage Park is located at 620 South Donahue Drive in Auburn, a few blocks south of Jordan-Hare Stadium. The market is held adjacent to the Edward L. Lowder Red Barn at Ag Heritage Park. Not to be confused with the (also red) Alfa Pavilion, the Red Barn is located behind the pond at the end of the main drive.
This year, the first 15 guests at each market can receive a free reusable market tote.
