Tiger Giving Day to support Department of Horticulture’s new hydroponic container gardens

Tiger Giving Day - Horticulture, Auburn, AL

The Department of Horticulture is set to receive 100 percent of the funds donated to the College of Agriculture on this year’s Tiger Giving Day, set for Feb. 19. The funds will be used to support new on-campus hydroponic container gardens.

These high-tech gardens will offer fresh vegetables and fruits for campus dining facilities year-round. Gifts to the hydroponic container gardens will help provide funding for Auburn student employees to maintain the gardens on a day-to-day, week-to-week basis.

These students will gain hands-on professional experience within state-of-the-art facilities — all while helping serve their peers with fresh, locally sourced produce.

The Department of Horticulture’s goal for Tiger Giving Day is $10,000. To support the program, visit TigerGiving.org and make a gift on Feb. 19.
