Nearly 80 graduate students in the College of Agriculture at Auburn University will have the opportunity to showcase their research with industry professionals, faculty, staff and their peers at the fifth annual Graduate Research Poster Showcase from 1-5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20.
Held in-person at the Auburn University Alumni Center, the Graduate Research Poster Showcase includes Master- and Doctorate-level competitions for six research areas: biosystems engineering and biotechnology; crop, soil and environmental sciences; climate smart and precision agriculture; fisheries, aquaculture and aquatic environment; plant pathology, entomology and horticulture; and poultry, animal and food science.
The showcase is an important event for graduate students, according to Associate Dean for Research Art Appel.
“There is a great deal of extremely compelling research being conducted by graduate students in the College of Agriculture,” Appel said. “This event allows them to exercise the skills needed to share their work with others and allows our graduate researchers to receive feedback from faculty, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.”
Poster judging will be held from 1-4 p.m. and the public is invited to review the posters from 4-5 p.m. Light food and refreshments will be available beginning at 4 p.m. and anyone interested in encouraged to attend.
