Nhuong Van Tran, a 2011 College of Agriculture alumnus, will present a guest lecture, “Future of Global Fish Supply and Demand,” Monday, Nov. 2, at 3:30 p.m. in Comer Hall 207.
Tran was awarded his B.S. degree in aquaculture in his native Vietnam in 1997 and, after a decade as an aquacultural researcher, started graduate school at Auburn. He received his master’s in rural sociology and his Ph.D. degree in applied economics, both from Auburn’s Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology.
He is now employed with The WorldFish Center, a member organization of the Consultative Group for International Agricultural Research. The Malaysia-based center works to end poverty and hunger by improving fisheries and aquaculture.
