Kristen Pegues
Kristen, who grew up on the Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center, wants to work on a research farm and be a liaison between scientists and farmers.
What made you choose your major?
Growing up on Auburn’s Gulf Coast Research and Extension Center, I have always been surrounded by agriculture. I knew I wanted to continue being around agriculture, especially crops, so Agronomy and Soils was a no brainer. With this major, I can share my passion for agriculture while also working to feed the world.
Who has been your biggest supporter in choosing a career in agriculture?
My father has been my biggest supporter and my greatest role model. He is the person I talk to when I’m struggling in a class, the one that shares his knowledge about farming and the one I can go into the field with.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy being outside. Whether I am at the park, on a boat or in the woods, I’m happiest outside.
Are you a morning or a night person?
I am definitely a morning person.
 Describe yourself in 3 words.
Loyal, kind, hard working.
