John Allen Nichols
John Allen originally chose the College of Agriculture because he wanted to pursue dental school after graduating in poultry science; he is now pursuing a career in agricultural law.
Ā What advice do you have for students with non-agricultural backgrounds like you?
Do not be afraid to get involved in all things agriculture. Don’t let those with farm backgrounds intimidate you away from doing something you are interested in. We are all here to get an education, and there are things that all of us can learn while we are here. Be bold and pursue your interests within and even outside the College of Ag.
Ā Who has been your biggest supporter since deciding to pursue a career in agriculture?
I do not know that I could name one faculty member as my main supporter. Each and every one of the faculty members within the College of Ag have been supportive of meĀ and given me guidance in my decisions.
Ā Describe yourself in three words.
Talkative, fun-loving and scattered.
Ā What is one food you canāt live without?
Cow tails.
Ā What has been your favorite trip taken within the College of Ag?
My favorite trip would be a tie between our trip to Florida for the Ag Ambassador Summit Conference and my trip to Texas to compete in the regional Academic Quadrathlon.
