Auburn University’s Women in Agriculture will host its 2019 Spring Luncheon Thursday, April 18, in Auburn and is inviting all women involved in or associated with agriculture and agribusiness at any level not only to attend the luncheon but also to learn more about the organization.
The 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. luncheon will be held at the Auburn University Club, located at 1650 Yarbrough Farms Blvd. Featured speaker will be 2008 Auburn Department of Horticulture alumna Claire Goldman, partner and head of design and business development at Auburn-based R & R Landscaping. R & R is a design/build firm with a full-service maintenance division.
In her presentation, titled “A pistil in a stamen’s world,” Goldman will offer examples of women who are influential leaders in traditionally male-dominated fields and will emphasize the importance among women in the agricultural field to support, encourage and communicate with each other.
Following her remarks, Goldman will join Auburn food science assistant professor Emefa Monu, Auburn agricultural economics alumna and John Deere territory manager Annette Bitto of Elberta, and Auburn agricultural communications senior and 2018-19 Ag Council president Emily Stone of Pike Road for a panel discussion focused on finding success and being trailblazers in the agricultural industry.
