Interim Dean of the Auburn University College of Agriculture Dr. Arthur Appel announced this week the publication of the college’s new strategic plan.
The plan follows the direction and signature goals outlined by the university’s new strategic plan, Strategic Plan 2035: Grounded & Groundbreaking.
The goals include providing an exceptional student experience, creating impactful research and creative scholarship, committing to excellence and innovation, charting catalytic engagement, and being “Distinctively Auburn.”
“Our plan includes clear objectives, action items and key performance indicators for how these goals will be accomplished within the College of Agriculture,” Appel said.
As a part of the plan’s development process, the college’s leadership team hosted a listening session and comments board for feedback. Appel thanked everyone who participated in the process and showed dedication to developing thorough direction within the plan’s five major goals. He particularly thanked Associate Dean for Instruction Dr. Amy Wright, “for her excellent leadership through this major and extensive effort.”
Appel said the plan will be a “living document,” meaning that it should grow as the college grows through new opportunities and challenges encountered along the way.
“I believe this document reflects the strengths of our college as well as our responsibilities and aspirations,” he said. “Reading it, I am excited to think of the years ahead. And I am confident that, together, we will advance and strengthen our impact in ways we never could have dreamed. I look forward to our next chapter.”
