Ag Week: Ag Alumni Panel featuring Young Alumn

College of Agriculture Students, Faculty, and Staff are invited to join us for the Our Work Seminar featuring a few of our recent graduates on Monday, March 25 at 12:00 pm in 207 Comer Hall. Panelists include: Brady Peek, Marlee Moore, Anna Leigh Peek, Sarah Stephenson Wilbourn and Andrew Pinyan.  The panel discussion will include information about their current work experiences, their Auburn experience (tips and benefits of getting involved in the college), their path to their current career and more. For a complete bio on each panelist see below.

This will be a great opportunity to learn more about what to expect upon graduating and tips on how to find your path. Free TACO MAMA will be provided to all that attend. To help with the planning of food we do ask that you RSVP at https://aub.ie/ourworklunch .

 

Brady Peek is owner/operator of Peek Family Farms.  He is a 2015 graduate of Auburn University, where he majored in Agronomy and Soils.  Brady grows corn, cotton, soybeans, and wheat on his North Alabama farm and buys/sells used farm equipment alongside his father and brother at Peek Equipment Inc.  In addition to managing the farm, Brady is on the Alabama State Young Farmer’s Committee, Alabama Soybean and Corn Association board of directors, and Limestone County Farmer’s Federation.  In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with his wife Anna. 

 

Anna Leigh Peek grew up on her family’s in North Alabama. After many trips to Auburn for 4-H and FFA events, Anna Leigh enrolled at Auburn University. While at Auburn, she studied agriculture communications. After graduation she went to work for Monsanto at their world headquarters in St Louis, MO, as tour guide. In this role, she gave customized tours on plant breeding and biotechnology to growers, regulators, students and consumer groups. She then went on to work in Monsanto’s consumer engagement division where she worked with moms, millennials and foodies to better understand food production and GMO’s. Anna Leigh then went to work for the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association in a communications and marketing role. Most recently she joined Nutrien Ag Solutions where she supports 250+ retail stores in the South in their hiring and training efforts.

  

Sarah Wilbourn, currently Regional Sales Manager for Wayne Farms’ Prepared Foods Division is a 2015 Auburn University College of Agriculture graduate. While at Auburn, she studied Poultry Science and had the privilege of accepting multiple internship opportunities. After graduating, Sarah first worked as the Director of Animal Welfare for United Egg Producers before moving to Wayne Farms where she promotes premium and legacy brand products. Sarah and her husband, Jake, live in Decatur, Alabama and enjoy hunting, hiking, and just about anything outdoors. Sarah also enjoys coffee, chocolate, and a good book.

 

Marlee Moore was born Aug. 15, 1994. She was raised in Marengo County’s Dixons Mills community and graduated from Thomasville High School in 2012. Four years later, she graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University, where she was the College of Agriculture marshal. While at Auburn, Marlee was involved in Ag Ambassadors and Ag Council, in addition to serving as the college’s assistant student recruitment coordinator. The agricultural communications graduate then went to work for the Alabama Farmers Federation, where she interned in college. Today, Marlee is the Federation’s multimedia content director. She manages the organization’s social media platforms, is associate editor and writer for Neighbors magazine, creates the monthly Cultivator newsletter, and organizes promotional projects for the Federation’s 17 commodity groups. Outside of agriculture, Marlee enjoys watching Auburn baseball, cooking, traveling and reading. She lives in Auburn.

  

Andrew Pinyan graduated from Auburn University’s College of Agriculure with a degree in Agricultural Business & Economics in May 2016. During his time at Auburn he was an active member in Ag Ambasadors and served as College Senator and Ag Council President and worked as student employee in the Office of Communications & Marketing in the college. He interned with Alabama Farm Credit and in the Office of Senator Jeff Sessions in Washington, DC.  He currently works as Loan Officer with Alabama Farm Credit in Talladega, AL.
