If you’ve ever driven past the E.V. Smith Research Center near Tallassee on your way to an Auburn football game, you may have wondered what exactly the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station is. Made up of 15 research centers located throughout Alabama, AAES employs 129 Alabamians in addition to campus-based faculty researchers whose work at the centers supports the state’s largest industry, agriculture. Watch for an AAES year in review report in early 2015, and check out this infographic to learn more about this vital part of the research, instruction and extension mission of the land grant university.
