The third installment of Alabama Public Television’s documentary series on Auburn agriculture will air Aug. 27 at 9 p.m. CDT. The episode will highlight Auburn’s research and extension efforts in plant-based food production.

“This is an excellent series that helps tell the story of Auburn agriculture to communities throughout the state,” said Paul Patterson, dean of Auburn’s College of Agriculture. “The work of our faculty, staff and students is deeply impactful to society. We are grateful to Alabama Public Television for showing that in such meaningful ways.”

The APT series, “Spotlight on Agriculture,” began in January and has continued with a new episode each quarter. The Aug. 27 episode will focus on Auburn’s peanut research program as well as its work with aquaponics and hydroponic production systems and with a variety of specialty crops, such as peaches, kiwifruit, berries and more. The program will include members of Auburn’s research and extension teams as well as growers and industry leaders around the state.

Previous “Spotlight on Agriculture” episodes highlighted Auburn’s work in natural resources and the environment and in animal-based food production.
