Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station
We work at research centers throughout Alabama to support our state’s agricultural industry, to strengthen economies, and to improve lives for people throughout our state, nation and world.
Research Areas
Food Animal Systems
Plant Production & Management Systems
Integrated Food & Human Health Systems
Sustainable Ecosystems & Renewable Resource Management
Departmental Research
Scientists in each of our eight departments conduct research on a wide range of subjects related to agriculture, forestry, natural resources, rural and economic development and the environment.
The goals
Enhancing local economies and improving the health, well-being and quality of life for the people of Alabama, the nation and the world.
In their studies—many of which are sponsored by the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station—our researchers not only search for solutions to existing problems but also make new discoveries that benefit everyone, from farmers to business owners to consumers. They also provide training for undergraduate and graduate students, who will be the next generation of agricultural leaders and scientists.
The college supports this vital work by providing administrative services for research projects and linkages to AAES-funded programs, by sponsoring faculty development and mentoring programs and by disseminating their findings via the Web, news releases and printed publications.
