E.T. & Vam York
International Seminar
The E.T. and Vam York International Scholars Program provides limited support to agricultural faculty at Auburn along with graduate students who want to gain an understanding of working in foreign conditions, particularly where their research, specialized studies teaching or outreach program could make a difference in the quality of life for local populations.
An important aspect of the program is providing an international experience for faculty and graduate students with little or no previous travel outside the United States. By doing so, Auburn faculty and graduate students are better prepared to appreciate and deal with the global nature of agricultural issues in the world today.
Funding is typically provided for travel and subsistence costs while abroad. However, in some cases, other expenses associated with the activity may be requested and approved in the proposal.
Successful applicants are expected to provide a seminar sharing their findings, project experiences and accomplishments at some point in the semester following their trip. These seminars are open to all interested faculty and students.
