June beef conference to focus on sustainable rebuilding

AUBURN, Ala. —Registration is now open for the 2014 Regional Beef Cattle Conference, set for Friday-Saturday, June 13-14, at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine’s Overton-Goodwin Center and other campus facilities. Co-sponsored by the Auburn College of Agriculture’s Department of Animal Sciences and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the conference will follow the theme “Rebuilding for a Sustainable Future.”

The registration fee is $80 before May 16 and $160 thereafter. Interactive Beef Cattle 101 workshops will be offered the morning of June 13 for an additional $20.

The two-day event will feature speakers from across the U.S.

“Financial strategies, technology, best management practices and industry leadership are the major themes of the program,” said Wayne Greene, animal sciences department head. “The program is geared to cattlemen in all phases of the industry, especially cow-calf producers, stocker or feeder operations within the Southeast region and beyond.”

Due to limited space, early registration is highly encouraged. For more information about the event or corporate partnership opportunities, contact Candi Vann at 334-844-1521, or visit the website for updates.
