Research

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

My research and teaching efforts are designed to improve technologies for the culture of marine (e.g. Florida pompano, red drum, red snapper, and white shrimp) and freshwater (e.g. catfish, tilapia, and bass) species for stock enhancement and aquaculture. Our primary activities have emphasized, graduate student education, the development and improvement of commercial feeds and feed management strategies, as well as providing continuing education opportunities to the industry.

EXTENSION

I am a firm believer of promoting industry linkages with research institutes not only to provide a better transfer of technologies but also to identify industry relevant research questions. Hence, I am happy to assist with industry training and extension activities. I regularly provide technical support to the feed industry. This includes training of industry personnel, reviewing of feed formulations and manufacturing practices, aquaculture techniques at the farm and most importantly feed management
