Amanda Martin, student recruitment and alumni relations coordinator for the College of Agriculture at Auburn University, has received the 2015 Early Career Achievement Award from Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s College of Agricultural Sciences and its Alumni Board of Governors.
Martin holds B.S. and master’s degrees in agricultural business and economics from Southern Illinois, graduating in 2007 and 2008, respectively.
She was nominated for the award by University of Illinois Extension educator and fellow SIU alumna Tabitha Welch, who said Martin “exemplifies a passion for agriculture in all she does, and she lives to share that passion with budding agriculturists.”
Martin is an active member of the National Agricultural Alumni Development Association; serves on Team Ag Ed at Auburn and the College of Agriculture Diversity Committee; and volunteers with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Lee County and Project Uplift.
