Jake Keel - Animal Sciences
Jake Keel is a senior majoring in animal sciences. His research focuses on treatment differences in the number of actively dividing stem cells in the small intestines of broiler chickens. His results could help define the optimal growing conditions for broilers, and that, in turn, could improve the efficiency of poultry production, enhance growers’ income and ensure that poultry remains an affordable, sustainable food source for the future. Keel says professors in the College of Agriculture have prepared him for this opportunity by discussing research with him and teaching in a way that supports critical-thinking skills.
