Our Department of Poultry Science has been recognized nationally for its production programs, as well as housing the IFT accredited Food Science Program. As a student in poultry science, you’ll study the nutrition, marketing, management and business principles needed to improve today’s industry. Poultry science students receive a foundation in basic sciences and mathematics as well as an understanding of the food supply needs of the U.S. and other countries.

The poultry pre-vet/pre-professional option provides the strong science background needed for graduate programs and veterinary school, as well as technical industry positions.
The poultry production option will provide you with the technical background needed for a career in food safety, microbiology, food processing, product quality assurance or product development. The curriculum allows flexibility to develop expertise in a specific area of interest.
