Dairy U 2017 set for April 22 on Auburn University campus

Students from kindergarten through 12th grade can get the scoop on the dairy business and bone up on their milk facts when they attend Dairy U, an educational, hands-on workshop set for Saturday, April 22, 8 a.m.–3 p.m., at the Stanley P. Wilson Beef Teaching Unit on the Auburn University campus.

Auburn Department of Animal Sciences majors have developed and will lead the day’s activities, all of which will give participants the opportunity to learn about dairy cattle, where milk comes from and how it gets from the farm to the fridge.

The deadline to register for Dairy U is Saturday, April 1. The $12-per-student registration fee includes all activities, lunch, snacks and a youth T-shirt. Parents are welcome to participate but must preregister separately. Adult registration is $12 and covers activities, lunch and snacks.

To register online, go to www.aces.edu/go/719 or contact Boyd Brady at 334-844-1562 or bradybo@auburn.edu.

Dairy U is sponsored by the Auburn University College of Agriculture, the Alabama Cooperative Extension System and Alabama 4-H. The Stanley P. Wilson Beef Teaching Unit is located at 500 Shug Jordan Parkway in Auburn.
