Short Bio
Taryn is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences. Her research and extension programs are primarily focused on aquaculture economics and management. Taryn joined Auburn University in 2023. Prior to joining Auburn, she was a Research Scientist at the University of Florida, where she also received her Ph.D. and B.S. degrees.

Research
The long-term goal of her research program is to support profitable and sustainable fisheries and aquaculture at local and global scales. Her research focuses on seafood markets, production economics, and management of fishery and aquaculture sectors.
Extension Experience
Her extension program focuses on improving the economic sustainability of the fishing and aquaculture industries of Alabama. Her extension activities provide economic information and tools that support better financial and business decision-making among producers and other actors in the supply chain.
