Research
Dr. Farjana’s research focuses on avian immunology and the infectious diseases of poultry, with particular emphasis on immunosuppressive viruses such as infectious bursal disease virus, avian reoviruses, and fowl adenoviruses. Efforts are directed toward elucidating host–virus interactions that influence polymicrobial infections in broiler chickens, as well as the immunological and molecular mechanisms underlying virus-induced immune dysregulation. In this context, investigations are undertaken to better understand how these infections reshape the host immune microenvironment and subsequently affect disease susceptibility and progression within poultry populations.
