Short Bio

Samantha Bennett serves as the Beef and Forage Outreach Administrator in the Department of Animal Sciences at Auburn University. She has a background in animal science and agricultural communications, with experience spanning research, extension, radio, podcasting, and broadcast television. Her interest in agricultural outreach began as an undergraduate student at Auburn University, where she discovered a passion for advocating for the agricultural industry and communicating science-based information to diverse audiences. This interest led her to pursue graduate work evaluating the effectiveness of various communication modalities in animal sciences. After earning her master’s degree, Bennett served as Director and Producer of the long-running radio show and podcast Agriculture Today with K-State Research and Extension before transitioning to a role as a news producer at RFD-TV, covering national and international agricultural news. She believes meaningful science is only impactful when paired with effective communication and strives to meet that need through her outreach efforts in the Department of Animal Sciences today.
