Short Bio
Since 2022, Dr. Becky Barlow has served as the Associate Dean for Extension in the Auburn University College of Agriculture and the Assistant Director for Agriculture, Forestry, and Natural Resource programs with Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
In her prior role at Auburn University (2007-2022), she was the Harry Murphy Professor and a forestry extension specialist with Alabama Cooperative Extension System in the College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment at Auburn University where her extension efforts focused on educational opportunities to help forest landowners manage for multiple uses including traditional forest management, silvopasture, non-timber forest products, and forest aesthetics.
Dr. Barlow received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree in 1992 and an M.S. in Forestry in 1994 from Mississippi State University.She worked as a land management forester for Weyerhaeuser Company between 1994 and 2007.
During that period, she returned to Mississippi State University part time where she earned a Ph.D. in Forestry in 2005.
She is a registered forester in Mississippi and Alabama.
