Short Bio

Dr. Jessica Rieder is a Research Fellow IV and Principal Investigator at Auburn University, where she leads interdisciplinary research at the intersection of molecular ecology, conservation genetics, and aquatic animal health. Dr. Rieder earned her Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolution from the University of Bern, Switzerland, and holds additional graduate degrees in Ecology and Evolution and Marine Resources Management from the University of Bern and Texas A&M University, respectively.

Her current research focuses on the development and application of environmental DNA (eDNA) and environmental RNA (eRNA) technologies for biodiversity monitoring, invasive species detection, and aquatic animal health assessment.
