Destinee is a Research Aide in the BSEN Department at Auburn University and a U.S. Air Force Reservist, where she serves as an Aircrew Flight Equipment Technician. Since 2021, she has balanced her work in higher education with military service, all while pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems at Troy University—a journey driven by her commitment to achieving her educational goals debt-free. With her FAA Part 107 certification, Destinee manages the department's UAV program and provides critical support for safety coordination, facilities management, and geospatial technology needs. Her long-term goal is to become a restoration ecologist, combining her passion for remote sensing, data management, and environmental conservation. When she's not working, studying, or serving, Destinee enjoys hiking the beautiful trails of Alabama with her husband and their chocolate lab. At home, she shares her space with two cats and an axolotl, who keep life interesting. Her unique career path reflects her belief in hard work, persistence, and the importance of connecting with the landscapes she hopes to help restore in the future.
