Short Bio
Dr. Adam Cletzer is the Program Director for the Agricultural Communications degree program, where he helps prepare students to share the story of agriculture with clarity and impact. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in communications, leadership, and organizational change. He also oversees the Agricultural Leadership Studies minor. Recognized for his engaging teaching, Dr. Cletzer has received multiple honors, including the Distinguished Leadership Educator Award and a university-level Writing Intensive Excellence Award.
His research focuses on contemporary leadership approaches—such as adaptive, distributed, and eco-leadership—and he is a certified master practitioner of Kirton’s Adaption-Innovation Inventory, which he uses to support leadership development for both students and professionals. A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Cletzer earned his Ph.D. in Leadership Development and Social Change from Virginia Tech, his M.S. in Agricultural Education and Communication, and his B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida. He is from Okeechobee, Florida.
