Short Bio
Eve Brantley serves as the Director of the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, Auburn University. She is also an Alumni Professor in the Auburn University Department of Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences, College of Agriculture. Before her role in Extension administration, Eve was the Director of the Auburn University Water Resources Center and the Extension Water Resources Specialist. Dr. Brantley has provided leadership on Extension programs that spans several program teams including private drinking water wells, watershed stewardship, drought, and citizen science monitoring of streams, rivers, and lakes.More bio information

- Project lead on multi-year interdisciplinary research projects to characterize stream morphological influences on in-stream biota, floodplain vegetation, and floodplain soils in the Alabama Piedmont and Appalachian Plateau.

Extension Experience
- Project lead on multi-year interdisciplinary watershed planning project for sustainable irrigation expansion planning in Alabama in partnership with AL Soil and Water Conservation Committee, USDA-NRCS, and the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
- Developed state and regional water and watershed Extension programs on green infrastructure and stream restoration. Since 2009, more than 100 successful workshops conducted on stream restoration and enhancement, innovative stormwater management practices (green infrastructure), and watershed management for improved water quality and citizen engagement. More than 3,400 natural resource professionals trained.
- Developed statewide Low Impact Development Handbook in partnership with Auburn University, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
- Assisted five Alabama Cooperative Extension System Program Priority Teams as the State Water Resources Specialist: Animal Sciences and Forages; Agronomic Crops; Forestry, Wildlife and Natural Resources; Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences; and Home Grounds. Supports program development and delivery for each of these teams including Alabama Watershed Stewards and the Alabama Private Well Water Program.
- Served as Agronomic Crops Priority Program Team Coordinator 2018-2020. Responsibilities included assisting team in establishing annual plan of work, synthesizing team reports for the Federal Report, co-conducting performance reviews of regional Extension agents, provide mentoring of new regional Extension agents, and listening to and advocating for the needs and concerns of Specialists and regional Extension agents.
- Strong partnerships with local, state, and federal partners including Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Committee, Alabama Association of Conservation Districts, ALFA Farmers Federation, Alabama Department of Environmental Management, Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, USDA Natural Resources and Conservation Service, Geological Survey of Alabama, Alabama Department of Community and Economic Affairs, and US Environmental Protection Agency.
