For years, I've said that the world of oysters is not one that you enter on purpose, but is rather one that you fall into. My love for oysters came accidentally, but somewhere along the way it became a passion engrained in my DNA.

Professional Experience
For nearly 6 years, I worked on one of Alabama's commercial oyster farms. While my experience on the farm was extremely diverse, I spent about half of that time as the hatchery manager. In this role, I was responsible for spawning and raising oyster larvae and seed to be sold for restoration projects across the gulf coast and for commercial farms to raise for consumption. Because of this experience, my transition to the Shellfish Lab has been smooth.
