Short Bio

Alan Wilson received a B.A. in Biology from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1997, M.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State in 2001, and Ph.D. in Applied Biology from Georgia Tech in 2006. After spending a year as a research investigator at the University of Michigan and NOAA’s Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory, Alan joined the faculty in the School of Fisheries, Aquaculture, and Aquatic Sciences in the College of Agriculture at Auburn University in 2007 where he is currently a Professor, the Assistant Director of Instruction, Outreach, and Extension, and the Graduate Program Officer. From 2014 to 2016, Alan served as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation where he helped manage the Population and Community Ecology program in the Division of Environmental Biology. He recently completed a two-year detail as the Panel Manager with the USDA NIFA SBIR Aquaculture program.
