Wright named Auburn agriculture associate dean for instruction

Associate dean for instruction Amy Wright

Auburn University horticulture professor Amy Wright has been appointed associate dean for instruction in the College of Agriculture, Dean Paul Patterson announced in April. She had served as interim associate dean for instruction since May 2016.

“Dr. Wright’s appointment to this position was made with primary consideration given to the particular goals and challenges our college will face over the next several years,” Patterson said. “I believe Dr. Wright’s insight and leadership will be vital these next few years as we work together to ensure the College of Agriculture’s growth and success.”

As associate dean for instruction, Wright will lead a team responsible for the College of Agriculture’s academic programming, curriculum and student recruitment activities.

Wright joined the Department of Horticulture faculty at Auburn as an assistant professor of landscape horticulture in 2002, was promoted to associate professor in 2007 and was awarded full professor status in 2013. She also is the Harry G. Ponder Endowed Professor of Horticulture.
