DESCRIPTION:Lecture: What is the role of the US in Global Agriculture – are we assisting developing countries or as we competing with them?\nThe Auburn University College of Agriculture’s E.T. York Distinguished Lecturer Series will present  U.S. Ambassador Kip Tom as the Spring 2021 York Lecturer Tuesday\, April 27\, in Auburn. The lecture\, set for 12:00 p.m. in the Auburn University Hotel and Conference Center Terrace Room. \nKip Tom served as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture and the U.S. ambassador to the Rome-based United Nations agencies. Before his appointment\, Tom was chief executive officer of Indiana-based Tom Farms\, which is among Indiana’s largest farming operations and a leading supplier to Monsanto. \nSeating is limited so we do ask that you reserve your seat for the in-person lecture.\nA live streaming option will be available — http://aub.ie/YorkLectureApril2021. \nBox lunches will be given to those in attendance—reservations for the lunch must be made by Wednesday\, April 21.  Tom’s lecture is free and open to the Auburn campus and community. \nThe E.T. York Distinguished Lecturer Series was established in Auburn’s College of Agriculture in 1981 through a gift from the late E.T.
