The Research and Extension Committee
function:
The Outlying Units Committee is made up of representatives from the College of Agriculture, Research and Alabama Cooperative Extension System. The purpose of this committee is to review issues pertinent to outlying units including but not limited to:
- Funding
- Staffing
- Research focus/scope
- Equipment
- Irrigation
- Other issue
Meetings are called on an ad hoc basis with an agenda that may be determined by the Dean, Director, Outlying Units or the committee chair.
guidelines:
The members of this committee will be appointed by Dean of the College of Agriculture and the Director of Outlying Units. The Dean of the College of Agriculture will confirm the members of the committee. The term of service is three years with staggered appointments by department. Successive terms are allowed. The committee will elect a chair every two years. The Director of Outlying Areas serves as an ex officio, non-voting member.
