Food Science Camp

July 23 - July 28

Food Science Camp, conducted by faculty, staff, and students from Auburn's College of Agriculture is open to science-loving rising 10th – 12th graders. If you've ever wondered what makes sour candies so sour or why your soda goes flat – our 5-day residential camp is for you! Campers will have the opportunity to learn elements of food safety, participate in sensory experiments, study candy chemistry, and tour campus and industry facilities. The College of Agriculture students, faculty, and staff to join them for their annual Welcome Back Picnic on Thursday, August 24 from 5:00 pm -7:00 pm on the front lawn of Comer Hall. Along with the picnic Ag Council will be hosting O-Night (Organization Night) for all students. Student Clubs/Organizations will be on the front lawn advertising their club and how students can get involved. This is fun event and a great way to kick off the fall semester.

The Ag Elite program is an on-campus program and luncheon reception to celebrate the academic achievements of talented minority high school students with an interest in science, including agricultural and environmental science. We are proud to recognize these outstanding students and showcase the many career opportunities within the food, agricultural and natural resources fields. The program will include a departmental browse, alumni and student speakers, lunch with faculty representatives, scholarship information, and a recipient will be selected for a $1000 scholarship award.
