The Alabama Cooperative Extension System (ACES) and Auburn University Fisheries and Allied Aquacultures Department are offering Fish Camp—five days of intense fun and hands-on activities blended into a creative learning experience that provides the broadest possible exposure to natural resource careers with an emphasis on aquaculture, fisheries, and aquatic ecology. This camp involves a lot of field/outdoor activity and is a great opportunity to learn from Auburn’s renowned fisheries, aquaculture, and aquatic ecology professionals.
The camp is open to high school students age 15-18. Students will have the opportunity to make their own lures, fish for a trophy size bass in the AU fisheries research ponds, kayak in the Coosa River, seine a fish pond, see flying carp, and much more.
Camp participants will experience campus-life while residing in Auburn’s resident dormitories, eating at campus dining facilities, and enjoying evening social and recreational activities. Campers will have 24/7 counselor supervision.
